Our mats ship as long, bulky items. They are not especially heavy, but they take up room, which is why home delivery to Queensland, WA, SA, the NT and Tasmania costs what it does, and why a lot of people get to the last step and change their mind.

There are two cheaper ways to get them. Both come down to the same thing: residential delivery is the expensive part, so we take it out.

Option 1 — Collect from a freight depot near you

Instead of paying for a truck to bring the mats to your door, we send them to a freight depot near you and you pick them up. For most customers outside Sydney that's a meaningful saving on the delivery cost.

1. Tell us where you are. Email us your shipping address, postcode and what you're ordering.
2. We quote it. We check the depot options near you and send you the collection price, the depot address and the opening hours. No obligation.
3. You order and collect. Once your mats arrive at the depot we send you the consignment number. Bring photo ID and that number, and you're away.

Option 2 — Have it delivered to a commercial address

Freight companies charge less to deliver to a business than to a home. Business sites are set up to receive freight, someone is there through the day, there's room for a truck, and there are no residential access or tailgate fees.

It does not have to be your own business. Any of these work, as long as they're happy to take it in for you:

• The gym or club you train at
• Your workplace
• A friend's or family member's business
• A warehouse, workshop or shopfront you have access to

It has to be a genuine commercial address. A house, unit or apartment does not qualify, including a home-based business registered at a residential address. If the carrier arrives and finds a residence, the residential rate applies on top, or the delivery fails and comes back at your cost.

Before you use someone else's address, check they're happy to receive it and that a person will be on site during business hours. Give us the business name, the full address and a contact name and mobile for the site when you order, and we'll quote the freight to that address so you can see the difference before you commit.

What you'll be picking up or receiving

Home mats. Each mat ships rolled up in its own box: 1.5m long, 45cm x 45cm, around 12kg. Not heavy, just bulky. One box per mat, so a two-mat order is two boxes. A wagon, a hatchback with the back seats down, a ute or a van will all handle it.

Commercial mats. These ship as rolls or on a pallet, depending on the length of the roll. As a guide, a 22m roll packs down to roughly a 1.2m x 1.0m pallet, about 1.6m high. That won't go in a car, you'll need a ute, van or trailer, and a second person to help you unload at the other end. If it's going to a commercial address, check the site can take a pallet.

• Collecting from a depot: bring photo ID and the consignment number we send you.
• Collect within the depot's holding period. We'll tell you exactly how long when we book it. After that the depot charges storage, or sends the freight back at your cost.
• Delivering to a commercial address: someone needs to be on site to sign for it during business hours.

Best value in Queensland and Western Australia, where home delivery is most expensive. We can also look at SA, TAS and the NT. If you're in Sydney, you're welcome to collect from our Thornleigh warehouse instead, that's free.
