The sold-out seminar brought together practitioners from across the country and around the world for three days of training, connection, and celebration, led by one of the most respected figures in modern Aikido.
The event marked 60 years since Sugano Sensei introduced and established Aikido in Australia in 1965, laying the foundations for what would become one of the country's most respected martial arts communities.
Hosted by Aiki Kai Australia, the anniversary seminar was a significant milestone for the Australian Aikido community and a fitting tribute to the generations of instructors and students who have contributed to the art's growth over the past six decades.
With attendance reaching capacity, the event attracted practitioners from all over Australia and overseas, making it one of the most significant Aikido gatherings held in Australia in recent years.
A highlight of the seminar was the presence of Mitsuteru Ueshiba Dojo-cho, the great-grandson of Aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba (O-Sensei).
As the current Dojo-cho of the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo Aikido's world headquarters Mitsuteru Ueshiba represents the direct lineage of the art's founder and is one of the most influential figures in Aikido today.
His attendance made this anniversary event particularly special, giving participants a rare opportunity to train under one of the highest-ranking representatives of Aikido worldwide.
